VME Material Handling has completed the installation and commissioning of a 130t overhead crane for the Miri Power Plant project in Sarawak, Malaysia.

The company’s engineering and installation teams carried out all phases of the project, aligning with regulated quality and safety protocols required for power generation operations.

The newly commissioned crane will support lifting needs at the facility.

The company said: “We would like to thank our client, partners, and project team for their trust and cooperation throughout the project.”

The Miri Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plant will have a planned capacity of 500MW.

Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS) is developing the facility, which is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.

The power station will use turbines designed to accommodate hydrogen and will supply electricity to Northern Sarawak.
