Technical Cranes has completed the design, manufacture and installation of a 5t safe working load overhead crane and gantry for Lapicida at its Harrogate site in North Yorkshire, UK.
The new equipment is intended to support Lapicida’s stone and marble supply operations, which serve clients throughout the UK, Europe, and the US.
Lapicida operates from a 20,000m² facility that includes workshops and a showroom.
The company offers natural stone, marble, reclaimed flooring, and porcelain tiles to architects, designers, property developers, retailers and private clients.
The company said: “Design, manufacture and installation of a 5t SWL overhead crane and gantry, for our client LAPICIDA – leading specialists in luxury marble, stone, porcelain and reclaimed surfaces.”
Technical Cranes has over three decades of experience in producing bespoke crane systems for a range of industries, including fabrication, rail, oil and gas, engineering, and logistics.
The company supplies both new and used cranes throughout the UK and internationally.
Technical Cranes’ portfolio includes the design, production, installation, refurbishment and repair of overhead crane systems for diverse lifting requirements.
The recent project for Lapicida is part of Technical Cranes’ ongoing work with various organisations across different sectors.
In August 2025, Technical Cranes installed a 30.5m span crane with a 12.6t capacity and two 6.3t hoists at Rainham Steel’s Essex facility. The installation included a 162m gantry system.
Rainham Steel aims to increase its lifting capabilities and accommodate continued expansion at its Scunthorpe site through this development.
