Luke Turner, a middleweight boxer supported by Rope and Sling Specialists (RSS), is set to make his professional debut on 3 October at BOXPARK in Liverpool, UK.

The 20-year-old from Warrington, who has been preparing with equipment provided by the RSS depot where his father works as a workshop engineer, recently signed with renowned promoter Frank Warren. He will fight under the Queensberry Promotions banner on the same card as the anticipated rematch between Kurt Wiggins and Kerim Agius.

Turner transitions to the professional boxing scene after a successful amateur career that included over 50 bouts and three national titles. He will enter the ring at 72.5 kg (160 lbs.) during the Blockone Sports event.

Turner said: “Training is going well and, with a date in the diary to work towards, we’re sharpening my skills all the time with a clear goal to make the biggest possible impact on my pro debut.

“Ticket sales are going great too — but I’m still welcoming messages with more interest. RSS have been a massive help, providing me with new gloves. I’m interested in partnering with more local firms looking to raise their profile by supporting my pro journey.”

RSS, known for its extensive range of lifting and rigging products including blocks, shackles, hooks, slings, and harnesses, is involved in various significant infrastructure projects across the UK. These operations are compliant with Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER).

Earlier in the year, RSS supplied rigging equipment for a major programme of railway improvements known as TRU, which aims to enhance travel across the Pennines between Manchester and York.

A recent phase of this multi-billion-pound project involved installing large cills units and beams using a 750-tonne capacity Liebherr LTM1750-9.1 crane from Mammoet’s fleet.

The installation included four 68-tonne beams and one 115-tonne cantilever beam during the Huddersfield phase. RSS provided crucial components for this project, including a 200-tonne capacity spreader beam and various slings and shackles.
