Brimmond, a UK-based engineering services firm, has completed testing on a refurbished ROV A-Frame, utilising its facility’s 20-tonne overhead cranes.

This project is part of Brimmond’s ongoing commitment to refurbishing equipment for long-term clients, contributing to extended equipment lifespan and reduced environmental impact.

The purpose-built facility features two 20-tonne overhead cranes that ensure the safe handling of heavy equipment. It also includes a custom-built test bay specifically designed for back-tension spooling of winches and load testing of A-Frames.

Brimmond attributes the successful delivery of this project to its dedicated workshop and engineering teams.

In a LinkedIn post, Brimmond lead project design engineer Greg Riddell said: “A weekend of successful testing at Brimmond on a refurbished ROV A-Frame for one of our valued clients, Tested Saturday, collected Monday.

“Regardless if its a new manufacture or a refurbishment, the same amount of time, care and attention to detail goes into each and every project. With the end result being a high quality, reliable and virtually new client asset being delivered.”

Brimmond operates across four key divisions: Rental Equipment, Design & Manufacture, Refurbishment & Service, and Marine Cranes. For over 25 years, the company has supplied lifting, mechanical, and hydraulic solutions to global clients in sectors such as energy and aquaculture.

Each project is approached with a focus on delivering tailored engineering solutions.

Founded in 1996, Brimmond offers a range of specialised products and services. These include Hydraulic Power Units (HPU), pump packages, marine cranes, lifting equipment, spoolers, reelers, and pressure test equipment.

The firm also offers flushing equipment, filtration equipment, subsea tooling, solids recovery systems, engineered solutions, a rental fleet, testing services, back-tension spooling, and marine crane servicing.

Brimmond emphasises the development of safer and more maintenance-friendly equipment from concept through to production. This method ensures cost-effective and time-efficient solutions that meet the needs of end users.
