Germany-based BANG Kransysteme has completed the installation of a process crane in the warehouse bay at Schwermetall Halbzeugwerk, bringing the new system into operation following a two-week period for installation and commissioning.
With a 35t lifting capacity, the crane operates in semi-automatic mode to enable precise coil handling and support an enhanced warehouse management system.
The installation took place under strict spatial limitations, requiring precise coordination.
BANG Kransysteme’s team used two mobile cranes and finalised the assembly within one day.
Schwermetall plans to add another crane of the same type later in the year, following an additional order placed for a third crane.

Schwermetall Halbzeugwerk employs approximately 330 staff and produces around 160,000t of pre-rolled copper and copper alloy strips annually.
The company supplies various sectors, including automotive, construction, telecommunications, electronics, and coin production, and has over 50 years’ experience in copper production and recycling.
