There and back again

Returning to Coventry after a successful event in Leeds last year, a bigger venue, more exhibitors and a greater global reach than ever before, the LEEA’s 8th annual Liftex event is shaping up to be an unmissable event.

As the UK's pre-eminent overhead lifting equipment exhibition, attendees of LiftEx 2012 will expect to see the most active members of the UK industry at this year's event. Whether as an exhibitors or visitors, few pass up the opportunity to visit the show each year as it remains the prime networking opportunity of its kind for the UK industry.

With around 500 attendees at last year's LiftEx in Leeds, the organisers have decided to increase the floor space at the event by over a third and return to the larger Jaguar Hall 2 at Coventry's Ricoh Arena, the venue for the event in 2010.

Over the last few years LiftEx has welcomed a number of visitors from far and wide, from the US and Australia as well as the Middle East and Japan, LEEA's increasing reach with regard to training provision and advising on the latest best practice highlighting the event among nations using UK standards as a benchmark for their own.

A new addition for this year's LiftEx event is the Innovation Theatre, where companies will have the opportunity to showcase their latest products and most forward-looking new designs. Companies submitting entries that meet the criteria will be allowed to give a short presentation in the theatre space on the show floor, with the best submissions competing for title of 'Best New Product/Innovation'.

In this issue Hoist provides a guide to the show, and the city, and takes a sneak peek at some of the exhibitors offerings.
