The maximum packaging laden weight of 35,000kg is mechanically handled using two off diametrically opposite trunnions fitted to the packaging body. The waste contained within a drum is lifted into, supported by and lowered out of the packaging using the hoist mechanism mounted to the packaging lid.
The drum is supported on the hoist using an electrically powered drum grab mechanism. The power to, and signals from, the grappling mechanism is provided by a cable reeling system that feeds and retracts the cable to the drum grab on demand in harmony with the raising and lowering of the hoist.
