The new system allows students from member companies to access their distance learning materials through the internet.
“This new development is the culmination of several months work and is just the first step in the transition from paper-based training to fully interactive e-learning,” said LEEA.
The training portal allows students to access their course and progress at their own pace without delays in delivery of their assignments. As each assignment is completed the next is released.
Further developments will allow the courses to be offered on a staggered basis throughout the year rather than the current 20-week fixed cycle. Automatic online marking of assignments will be introduced in the near future allowing a quicker feedback of performance to the students.
Students registered for online courses will receive details of how to access their training material in due course and a user guide will be available via a link to the LEEA website.
Meanwhile, the November issue of Hoist is on its way to subscribers as we speak, but if you can’t wait, the content is now live on the website. Just click on the front cover at the top of the homepage, then click the headlines.
Hoist remains the only international factory crane magazine, bringing you the latest news, product finder, reference information and more covering bridge cranes, jib cranes, chain hoists, wire rope hoists, blocks, end-of-line attachments, components and the installation, maintenance, training, consultancy and trade associations surrounding this equipment.
Please talk back to me. I’d love to put your blogs from the workshop floor up on the site. What have you lifted recently? Just bought an interesting crane? Tell me how business is where you’re reading Hoist. Speaking of which, do you like it? What would you like to see us writing about?
