The new equipment at West Bromwich will allow the calibration of load cells for equipment up to 50t. All testing up to 400t will still take place at Red Rooster's Aberdeenshire head office.

The Stavanger branch, Red Rooster Norge AS, will specialise in the sale and rental of air hoists, electric chain hoists, wire rope hoists, powered winches, load measuring equipment, and other lifting equipment. It will primarily target the offshore and related markets.

Red Rooster staff will be at LiftEx in Coventry, UK, on 18–19 October. The firm will be displaying their range of powered winches, hoists and load cells, available for sale and hire.

Delegates can also discuss the firm’s recent price restructuring, as their load cell calibration services are available at reduced rates as part of particular contractual agreements to ensure the volume of work necessary to meet their annual recalibration requirement.

All Red Rooster products are tested using Red Rooster’s BS/EN/ISO 9001:2000 quality system, and the company’s manufacturing, supply, repair, rental and testing activities are also accredited by Lloyds Register.

A version of this article printed in the November issue of Hoist carried an error. Our LiftEx show preview included coverage of Red Rooster’s new plant in Norway. Due to an editing error, we incorrectly said that Red Rooster is Norwegian. The company is, in fact, Scottish, and has been based in Aberdeenshire for more than 20 years.
