Terex Material Handling has introduced a new model within its Demag DC chain hoist family designed or direct integration into customers’ system installations.

The manufacturer's DC-ProDC units feature direct control, which is claimed to offer a "reliable solution" for various applications such as raising and lowering lifting doors or furnace lids also at high ambient temperatures.

The new direct-controlled Demag DC-ProDC chain hoists can also be employed where a customer wants to refurbish an existing installation and requires a lifting solution where the chain hoist needs to be controlled by an existing control system with a line supply.

Terex' DC-ProDC chain hoists complete with direct control are available in seven sizes with load capacities ranging between 80 and 5,000 kg.

Lifting speeds range from 4 to 24 m/min and can be controlled direct via a line supply while a terminal strip integrated in the unit can provide a direct and simple connection.

Elsewhere, DC-ProDC units can also be operated with the company's Demag DSK or DST control pendants while operating limit switches can be employed to cut off the lifting motions.

"As for all other chain hoists in the DC product family, the gearbox of units with direct control is also maintenance-free for up to 10 years," the company added.

The DC-ProDC chain hoists with direct control can also be employed under extremely arduous ambient conditions and at very high temperatures while the rugged design is said to provide for operation at temperatures up to 80°C and offers ease of maintenance.
