Panama acquires 13 RTGs

Panama Ports Company (PPC) has purchased 13 rubber tyred gantry (RTG) cranes of the ZPMC brand, capable of stowing up to seven containers high, local press announced recently. The cranes left Jiangyn in China on 22 April and will arrive at the Port of Balboa later this month.

With this new acquisition, Balboa will have a total of 90 RTG cranes. These new electic RTGs are part of a green initiative of Panama Ports Company with the aim of improving the environment by eliminating pollution, reducing emissions and noise levels.
