New sizes of Tycan fibre chain
14 May 2019Green Pin has introduced three new sizes of its Tycan synthetic lifting chain, and accompanying grade 10 steel components.
The fibre chain offers the same performance and flexibility as steel chain, but is eight times lighter, says Green Pin, which is part of Netherlands-based Van Beest.
There are now four sizes of lifting chain available, with matching fittings, enabling operators to complete a one-leg chain assembly with a working load limit of 2.6t, 4t, 5t or 6.8t, or 14.2t in a four-leg configuration.
The new chain fittings are developed specifically for use with Green Pin Tycan chains and include a connecting link, a shortening hook and a sling hook. The clevis of the hook and the bearing surface of the connecting link are designed to fit perfectly with the link of a Green Pin Tycan chain, to guarantee a safe assembly of the chain and fittings.
