The Type LD1 davit, part of its Safelift range of products, offers a load capacity of 500kg at a 1,500mm radius. It weighs less than 25kg using an all aluminium construction and is powder-coated for a corrosion-free finish. It also features lifting eyes for chain blocks and slave chains, which are supplied separately.

The Type LD1 Safelift davit has a height of 1,856mm plus socket height, a radius from 1,100mm to 1,500mm and can slew 360°. Rossendale Group said slewing occurs easily with minimal manual force, even when fully loaded.

Safelift lifting equipment includes overhead cranes, jib cranes, mobile gantries, spreader beams and davits. Safelift equipment is offered exclusively by Rossendale Group and sold only to end users.

Simon Bamford, managing director at Rossendale Group, said the Type LD1 davit is being manufactured at its plant in Lincoln and distributed to customers in the UK and across the Gulf states.

One ideal application for the Type LD1 davit is lifting submersible pumps and motors. Bamford said the lightweight construction of the Type LD1 davit means it can be moved around water treatment works where there are numerous sockets installed but only one davit available for lifts.
