The US Food and Drug Administration has recently published over 20 years’ worth of previously secret data on medical device failures, following a series of international investigations into global safety breaches across the industry. But is the agency doing enough to remedy its past mistakes?

The London branch of the inspection and testing business has been located in Abbey Wood for more than 25 years but moves site in order to upgrade its facilities.

Its new "state-of-the-art" office is complemented by modern workshop facilities and testing equipment that form part of the firm's ambitious expansion plans to increase its support to local blue chip companies. These include those in the construction, rail, automotive, facilities, and renewable energy sectors.

Ryan White, regional director for the south at Lloyds British, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity to us to show case our new facilities and build stronger relations with our key customers across a variety of sectors within and around the London area.

"The new branch is conveniently located on J1 of the M25, allowing us to quickly support our customers with a much improved response time for breakdowns. We have also introduced a new management team to continue driving efficiencies and to maintain the highest possible standards expected by our customers"

Lloyds British employs 12 full-time staff at its London site and will offer a full range of inspection services on lifting equipment, work equipment, pressure vessel, and local exhaust ventilation systems.

It also offers in-house and on site testing, crane maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment, and even training services in our new training room and workshop.

The group has a turnover of more than £24 million and employs 300 people across its 12 UK outlets, as well as operating overseas.
