Drum attachment from Liftomatic
17 January 2019Illinois-based Liftomatic Material Handling has launched the HCB hoist attachment to handle all 55-gallon drums.
The HCB-BC lifts steel, fibre and plastic drums weighing up to 2,000lbs, using the company’s ‘Parrot-Beak’ drum handling attachment. It can attach to any overhead hoist, crane or boom and engages the drum automatically. The mechanical clamping system engages the top lip of the container, ensuring a safe and reliable pick-up, says Liftomatic.
An adjustable counterbalance on the main frame of the unit allows for safe handling of all drums from 15–27in in diameter, while a padded belt cradle protects the drum sidewall during transport.
The HCB model is available in one- or two-drum configurations, including stainless units for food-grade and pharmaceutical applications.
