Transport task for Carruthers
10 November 1998KCI Carruthers of Scotland has been contracted to transport three 5t cranes, each spanning 36m, across the length of Britain in late November.
The cranes are being installed at a south of England factory in Uxbridge, Middlesex, belonging to Wright Machinery. They are being supplied in one girder length to aid erection.
The cranes are fitted with dual speed on hoist and traverse and Dynac variable speed on long and traverse motions, a well as pendant control, disc brakes, condition monitoring and IP55 motors.
• Also in the UK, KCI Carruthers Crane Regeneration has completed one of its most valuable orders ever, modernising two 5t Goliath turbine hall cranes at Nuclear Electric, Hartlepool.
