New cranes for paper recycling plant

2 December 2002

Konecranes UK has won a contract to supply two cranes to Shotton Paper's extended recycling plant at Deeside, North Wales.

The first has two 15t CXTD trolleys on a 38m span bridge, and the second is a 90t SMD model with two 45t trolleys on a 28m span bridge. The 90t crane is to be fitted with a power rotational lifting beam for handling rolls of paper.

The contract, worth over £375,000 ($560,000) will be delivered in two stages, January and May 2003.

In November Konecranes UK supplied three cranes to the Chester-Le-Street excavator production facility of Komatsu UK. The £52,000 ($78,000) order was for two 10t SWL cranes with 11.5m span and the third was a 5t crane with a 23m span. All the cranes used CXT hoists.
