Motorman is targeting overseas expansion

2 December 2002

Growth in the Spanish market has enabled several of Spain's equipment manufacturers to broaden their horizons. Among these is Motorman, founded by Javier de Mena in 1984.

Motorman produces weighing systems in cranes and moving machines. In recent years it has had a few exports to Belgium, France, Portugal, Brazil, Cuba and Holland, but its principal market has always been Spain.

Now the company has created an export department, managed by Miguel Tellez, and it is planning international expansion. Motorman is negotiating with crane manufacturers to install Motorman equipment as standard and it has signed up Newtonne Lifting Services as its UK representative. In Belgium and Holland it is represented by AWSystem, in Greece by 2P Technologies, and in Brazil by Tongs Industria e Comercio. Tellez said that further agents in other countries would be appointed soon.

Motorman produces hooks and hookblocks with built-in scales, CE Class III certified and accurate up to 0.1%. Other core products are mechanical and electronic load limiting devices and black box data recorders for overhead travelling and tower cranes.
