Harrington embarks on expansion

5 December 1999

Construction has begun on a $2m extension which will double the size of Harrington Hoists & Cranes’ facility in Manheim Pennsylvania. The work increases the plant from around 3,400m2 to nearly 7,000m2. Completion is expected in August.

“The plant expansion is our response to a sustained increase in sales that has averaged 16% per year since 1990, and we anticipate continued growth,” said president Perry Saunders.

“The additional space will permit us to improve numerous processes while maintaining our high quality standards, and provide us with room to grow in engineering, manufacturing and office administration.” Harrington is the US subsidiary of Japanese hoist manufacturer Kito Corporation.
