Dematic extends its electric hoist range and parallel gripper system

Dematic has added two new models to its extensive DH series of electric wire rope hoists, bringing the number of models in the range to 29. The DH series offers safe working loads ranging from 500kg to 100t.

The two new models are the 10t-rated DH 400 and the 16t-rated DH 600. These hoists have higher FEM ratings than other models as they are designed for more intensive applications.

In a separate initiative, Dematic’s PGS parallel gripper system, originally designed for lifting containers, has been developed for an extended range of applications.

Now available in four basic designs, the PGS can lift containers with normal handle openings and shafts with diameters up to 150mm. Maximum load capacity is 125kg. The parallel gripper system also comprises a clamping gripper for handling rectangular loads and a disc-type gripper for thin and round elements.

The shaft gripper is fitted with supporting shafts and can pick up shafts with various diameters. It can be adjusted to different shaft designs and applications by changing the gripper jaw.

Dematic says that the parallel grab system can be adapted to any container variants and other parts. An automatic locking device and adjustable opening widths are features which provide for fatigue-free, ergonomic handling. The parallel grippers have a quick-change coupling arrangement for use with Dematics’ DKM Manulift chain hoist or, for high speed handling, the DKMES Manulift chain hoist.
