Cattron’s anti-collision guard

A new anti-collision device for overhead cranes has been developed by remote control systems manufacturer Cattron.

UltraGuard can detect other cranes or an end wall using coded packet transmission and flight-time measurement and thus prevent accidents. When installed on a moving crane with either manual or remote control, it warns of approaching objects, then slows down, and then stops.

“Use of UltraGuard in high activity areas – possibly with a busy workforce in the same area – can make a significant contribution to preventing damage to property and injury to personnel,” claims the manufacturer.
