Okuma is expanding its automation products with a new combination of lathe and robot system with its entry level model Genos L3000-e Standroid.

The Okuma Standroid robot system is part of the Okuma Roid series and has been specially developed for the automation of small and medium-batch sizes. As it comes with the new Roid Navi system with a dialogue user interface, no prior robot knowledge is required.

“A small footprint and our optimised operation makes the Genos L3000-e Standroid a dedicated tool to increase productivity and maximise machine utilisation,” said Jakob Simon, automation specialist, Okuma Europe.

The new model is offered as a package version equipped and ready to use with a comprehensive accessories package delivered as a standard. It contains an integrated motor spindle with three years spindle warranty, NC tailstock, chip conveyor, and a toolholder package, as well as a 3-jaw hollow chuck.

Its Thermo-Friendly Concept developed in-house ensures the highest workpiece accuracies, even with changing thermal environmental influences.

The intelligent OSP-P300LA Okuma control software makes it easier to operate and also leads to shorter setup times. Additionally, the machine and the robot are both integrated into the Collision Avoidance System (CAS).

Deliveries in Europe will start being made from September 2021, pre-orders can be placed now.
