Straightpoint says it has invested in a new fleet of load links for its rental division, which initially opened in August.

Load cells will be made available for weekly or longer-term hire to both overseas-based and domestic customers.

Explaining the rationale for the move, Straightpoint managing director, David Ayling, said: “Hire Services were introduced to meet the varying demands of our customers especially in an economic climate where businesses cannot always afford to invest capital as easily.

“Whilst our load cells are an important safety measure for many industries very often they are only required on a project basis. Hire Services are perfect for clients who hire regularly or those wanting a load cell for a short period of time or single project.”

Straightpoint’s hire fleet includes the RFID equipped Radiolink Plus range of load cells as well as the Loadlink Plus range and the company’s most popular product, the Miniweigher Plus.

In addition to tension load cells, compression cell ranges will also be available for hire. The firm says its products can be shipped pre-calibrated and with the relevant certificates and a 12-month warranty.

Straightpoint customer Mike Whalen, of RS Industrial, said: “We started using Straightpoint Hire Services in August 2011 and find it is an excellent option for RS Industrial because the equipment we need is generally available from stock and of a type we couldn’t usually get from our previous sources, so we had to compromise with hand held wired read-outs etcetera.

“Straightpoint Radio Link has solved this issue. To date we have been very pleased with the customer service, availability and delivery of the items required.”
