160 Davits for Nexrad domes
8 December 2004Allied Power Products has supplied 160 davit cranes with 400 lb (180kg) winches for use on Nexrad weather radar domes operated by US government meterological department NOAA. The Columbia-brand hoists pay out 115 ft (35m) of 5/32” (4mm) wire rope cable. Average lifting speed is 25 fpm (7.5m/m).
